What, When and Where To

The beautiful village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor lies between green fields and high, moorland hills in a sheltered valley on the East side of Dartmoor. Run entirely by volunteers to raise money for local good causes, as well as providing an opportunity for farmers to compare the size of their tractors, Widecombe Fair takes place on the second Tuesday of September each year and attracts visitors from far and wide.

Thank you as ever to all our volunteers, judges, traders, caterers, participants and visitors for another splendid 2026 fair. There may have been a little dampness to start the day but that didn’t last long. With so much to see and take part in throughout the day you may not have had a chance to catch everything - in which case you’ll just have to come back again next year!

We are currently in the process of gathering the results of the various competitions and will post them up here when ready, along with photographs and some videos of the highlights.
